A Short: Jesus is God #2
In Colossians 1:21-23, Paul said, “And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
Notice that those who were “alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil,” Jesus reconciled to himself in “his body of flesh by his death.” Jesus did this to present his enemy, which is us, as “holy and blameless and above reproach” before himself. Jesus reconciled us, namely whosoever believes in him, by taking our punishment in his flesh on the cross, so that Jesus can bring us before himself without blemish and holy, and into his Holy presence as a friend. But, there is an "If," which introduces a condition to being presented in his Holy presence as a friend. It is this, “If” we continue in faith, that is in faith that Jesus died for our sins, and that we remain “stable, and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel.” Jesus died to present you free of sin before himself.
